Dalkey Archive Press - Fall 2006
A nice surprise in the mailbox this afternoon - the Fall 2006 catalogue from Dalkey Archive Press. They've got some interesting titles coming out this fall, including some authors being translated for the first time, some titles in paperback for the first time, and some titles being rediscovered.
My early top choice has to be Rosa Liksom's Dark Paradise. Liksom grew up in Lapland, Finland and her parents were reindeer breeders and farmers. There were only eight houses in her village. She's travelled extensively (Copenhagen, Iceland, Paris, Norway and Moscow) and also is a painter, filmmaker and cartoonist.
There are also works from Romania, Spain, Norway, France, Switzerland, England, Brazil, Ireland and the United States.
