Nice Things Said Re: EWN

  • "Dan Wickett is serious about a good read. But the EWN email list doesn't just deliver his sure-footed reviews; it also brings you news and connections to other writers. Sign up now - he understands what readers want to know about books." Quinn Dalton, author, Bulletproof Girl

"Mr. Wickett is that rarely heard from but best of all possible reviewers - the dedicated and knowledgeable fan. He writes clean-cutting and fresh reviews that represent a sensibility unspoiled by over-exposure to the biz of books, but deeply in love with them." Daniel Woodrell, author, Winter's Bone

"Dan Wickett is a reader's best friend. Not only does he read and trenchantly review new work, but he looks back to books that deserve ongoing readership. I've lost track of the number of times he's led me to boks that I overlooked (or never knew about), and that were a delight. There aren't many reviewers I will let shape my library, but Dan Wickett is one." Erin McGraw, author, The Baby Tree

Hey, Dan. Good seeing you and Roy. Apologies for a few of the boilerplate questions. I didn't have nearly as much time to prepare as I usually do. But it was still a fun time! Thanks!

    Dan Wickett

Boilerplate? You mean the "Do you like to write with a pen or pencil?" question - I thought that was one helluva query.

    Hey, Dan.

Just want to say that I picked up a copy of All Over at Prairie Lights in Iowa City yesterday afternoon, where it was prominently displayed among the new paperbacks.

Also, when I went to ask the guy at the information desk if they had Percy's Refresh, Refresh hiding out somewhere, he, too, was reading All Over.

There's a bad pun I could use as a punchline here, but I won't do it.

Wow, Dan, what a tour. Congrats to you and to Roy.

Hey, if you're anywhere near anywhere Roy is reading, make the drive. Trust me, it's worth it.

I'm glad everything went well for you and Roy and for Dzanc. I wish I could have made the reading at Shaman, but the after party was nice. We missed you at the post-party poker game. Take care - Barry

Sounds like a great time. I wish I could have made one of the readings. Good work, all of ya.

    Lauren Cerand

SUCH a pleasure to see you even if for only a brief moment-- I was glad to cede my place in line for your swell of admirers! Very best, LC
