Parini
I'm not a frequent reader of book reviews of books I know I'm going to read. No need to read up on the latest Ron Rash novel, or William Gay, or, well, you get the picture. If I'm going to read a review, it's going to be of a title that wasn't really in the wheelhouse. A few days back, the Wall Street Journal had such a review, of Jay Parini's latest effort, Promised Land: Thirteen Books That Changed America. And I have to say, they make the book sound pretty great.
They were even kind enough to link to a portion of the book, which confirmed the review for me - this book is one on my list to look for the next time I'm out and about shopping for books.
