Has anybody killed it more than Blake Butler this year in the literary world? Not only did he publish Ever with Calamari Press, and Scorch Atlas with Featherproof Books (note the cool factor with his choice of publishing houses?), but he's just announced that he's signed a two book deal with Harper Perennial for a novel and I assume his book 2500, the 50 lists of 50 Blake's been publishing individually the past few years, as book two is listed as a non-fiction title. And that's nothing to say about individual pieces published all over the place, journals edited, reviews written, websites managed, etc.
It's very cool seeing somebody that puts everything he has into the literary world seeing results. And I agree with a sentiment Blake has on his post, that a major publisher is interested in his work (I don't believe I've read the novel he's sold them, but Blake doesn't write too many sentences that don't stray into Lynchian worlds) is a positive sign.

thanks Dan! the nonfiction is actually something totally different, still in progress.. i appreciate all these kind words, as ever
