The New York Times has listed their 100 Notable Books of the Year, and out of the 39 that are either fiction or poetry, a few titles are familiar to EWN members (though as usual, a few that I've purchased and have not gotten to are on the list such as Murakami's Kafka on the Shore, McCarthy's No Country for Old Men, and Thomas Kelly's Empire Rising).
Congratulations go out to Dean Bakopoulous for his debut novel, Please Don't Come Back From the Moon, Sam Lipsyte for Homeland, and Walter Kirn for his recent Mission to America (which will be EWN reviewed very soon, but I can say it will be seeing many stars).
