While I admit to falling in line with many other bloggers in my general apathy towards the NYTBR. I still peek at it every Thursday or so at Borders, to see what they're doing.
This week however, had two plusses as far as I was concerned:
The cover review is of a paperback original - Tom Bissell's review of The Places in Between by Rory Stewart - which just might be a first - I certainly do not remember such a case happening before. The review is a rave, and led me to actually pick up a copy of the book in the store and read the first chapter - at which point I walked it to the counter with me.
The second aspect is Dave Iztkoff's Sci-Fi column in which he refers to Matt Cheney, litblogger, and his Mumpsimus' comments towards Iztkoff's prior column.
