A couple of things I've always enjoyed about The Adirondack Review is that they dabble in everything - fiction, poetry, non-fiction, plus book reviews, film criticism, and even photography. The other is that they've taken advantage of the fact that they're on online journal and once they've posted their "Current" issue, they immediately begin posting pieces to their "Evolving" issue, not waiting for some date in time - when they get something they know will be in that next issue edited and ready, they put it up.
And they run many great contests - including the one currently ongoing and highlighted by the photo to the left - a photography contest, where the winner rakes in a $250 prize, plus has their photo as the cover of the next issue of the journal.
Dan,
Agreed. TAR is a nice place to land work. I landed a poem in the winter issue based on their Fiddlehead contest.
