Nice Things Said Re: EWN

  • "Dan Wickett is serious about a good read. But the EWN email list doesn't just deliver his sure-footed reviews; it also brings you news and connections to other writers. Sign up now - he understands what readers want to know about books." Quinn Dalton, author, Bulletproof Girl

"Mr. Wickett is that rarely heard from but best of all possible reviewers - the dedicated and knowledgeable fan. He writes clean-cutting and fresh reviews that represent a sensibility unspoiled by over-exposure to the biz of books, but deeply in love with them." Daniel Woodrell, author, Winter's Bone

"Dan Wickett is a reader's best friend. Not only does he read and trenchantly review new work, but he looks back to books that deserve ongoing readership. I've lost track of the number of times he's led me to boks that I overlooked (or never knew about), and that were a delight. There aren't many reviewers I will let shape my library, but Dan Wickett is one." Erin McGraw, author, The Baby Tree

Dan: Sorry to hear about the weather conditions and sorry to miss you. We'll hook up next time!

    Lyndsey Rabon

    Hi Dan,

Please forgive me for posting this in the comments space, but I don't have a working email for you...

I'm a student at Tulane University in New Orleans. I'll be graduating in May with a degree in Media Arts and English (specializing in Internet Public Relations and Creative Writing). Currently I'm learning the ins and outs of Literary Event's an internship centered around the Tennessee Williams Festival and promoting campus lecture/reading series within the literary community in New Orleans and beyond.

I thought a great way to go about getting the word out would be to contact bloggers who already have an interest in all things literary, even if they don't live in New Orleans...some of your readers might!

The purpose of my query is to see if you'd be interested in having me contact you whenever we have a guest speaker coming to campus (Louis Gluck, Salman Rushdie, Timothy Liu, etc)....and then you would post this information on your blog/website. (Example: Poetry Reading: Timothy Liu; Freeman Auditorium @ 7:00pm, follow by reception; FREE to public).

If any of our guest writers are of a personal interest to you, then we can arrange to have them be your guest blogger or do an interview...or have you guest blog for us as an interviewer (note: we will have a blog set up by the end of this week)...the possibilities are endless. I also wanted to know if you allow people to advertise on your blog and if so, how much does it cost?

I look forward to your feedback!

    Warm Regards,
    Lyndsey Rabon
