Per his email of earlier today, DeWitt Henry is stepping down from his position as Interim
Director/Editor-in-Chief of Ploughshares.
The good news is that they've selected a top-notch candidate to take over as the permanent Director/Editor-in-Chief, and it's Ladette Randolph. I've had the pleasure of knowing Ladette for the past three or four years due to her position as Director of the University of Nebraska Press, which has consistently put out some fantastic fiction and non-fiction with their Flyover Fiction Series, and American Lives series, and books on baseball, etc. To top it off, she's also an extremely nice person if you're fortunate enough to meet her in person.
Here's hoping that U-Nebraska Press finds a great individual to replace Ladette. As you might guess from the above paragraph, I think she'll be pretty tough to replace there. Ladette will be at the Ploughshares helm by October 1.
Much congratulation Ladette. Ploughshares is in good hands. Best of luck!

I have personally worked with Ladette Randolph and she is a real treat. Intellectual, tender, thoughtful. She will take great wisdom to Ploughshares, but she will be missed.
