Many of you may remember one of the Litblog Co-op Read This! titles, Firmin by Sam Savage. It is coming out in paperback (December 30)
and I can't believe how much I love the book design. The book, told from the perspective of a rat that lives in a bookstore, has a huge bite mark out of the right hand side of it - all the way from front to back cover. It also has rat illustrations strewn throughout by Fernando Krahn. The folks at Delta Fiction have done a stellar job with this one, and the book is only going to be $12.00.
I really like the Book Design that are attempting to look like anything but book covers...it is an interesting idea to skew type, or have type integrated into the cover images.
