Very cool news over at The Roving Editor this morning - that is that Patricia Engel, whose story "Dia" we took a look at here at the EWN during Short Story Month, has just signed a two book deal with Grove/Atlantic and first up will be a story collection (one can only assume "Dia" will be included as it is a great story) due out a little over a year from now in the Fall 2010!
Congratulations to Engel. This seems overly well deserved and two more books to immediately put on my "Can't wait for" list.
And a reminder for you readers that had a difficult time keeping up with the flurry of posts during Short Story Month, consider making a Dzanc donation to receive the full collection of Short Story Month Essays from here, Matt Bell, Steven McDermott's Storyglossia, and Aaron Burch's Hobart!
This is great news. We at Sycamore Review (www.sycamorereview.com)are big fans of Patricia's. If you want a taste of her talent before the book is released, be sure to grab a copy of Sycamore Review's forthcoming Winter/Spring 2010 issue, which will feature an excellent story of hers.
