To start things, the photo off to the left does not come close to showing off just how nice looking I will Unfold You With My Hairy Hands (Greying Ghost, 2008) really is. The image on the left of the cover is an angel, appearing to trumpet the title onto the front cover - on the flipside, another angel trumpets "The Greying Ghost".
The cover is a nice solid stock of paper and there's a colorful patterned inlay sheet of paper between that and the printed upon 32 pages within. It contains six stories that are still my favorites of what I've read of Shane Jones' work to date. Three of the six stories are written in numbered fragments while the other three come from a more traditional narrative form. The title story is about the relationship between a hair monster and Stacey, a handicapped woman. Other stories include "I Built a Wagon While Falling From a Tree," and "Floating Animals." While you might guess that the stories include some non-realist elements, Jones truly does a nice job of using these non-realist elements to remind his reader of everyday human emotions.
This chapbook was originally published in a run of 75 copies. A second print run of 30 was produced and it is now currently out of print.
What a title. The cover could be plain black with white text and I'd grab it for the title.
