Sorry again for the delay on this but yes, the Emerging Writers Network will indeed be celebrating Short Story Month again this year and once again we thank Steven Seighman for designing our logo for this year. You'll see his handiwork at least around 100 times this month at this blog alone, though I will not go so far as to promise 3 posts per day this year.
I have some fun planned though - bringing back some old story collection reviews, some guest posts, looking at stories from some collections and journals I've just not quite gotten to yet, as well as pointing people to other places celebrating short story month.
Also, some long conversations happening here about very specific stories and collections with the aid of many fans of short stories and collections - more on that later this evening!
Some places I've already seen posting this month:
Reading the Short Story (seems a natural though, no?)
Seattle pi blogAustin Examiner (though they give me credit for many things Larry Dark has said over the past 7 years)
That Shakespearean Blog (which is already on fire with four essays about various stories - one per day in great depth!)
American Short Fiction's blog (also starting off strong!)
Blue Pencil DiariesShort Story Online (another natural, eh?)
Hopefully we'll see Steven's design all over the internet the next four weeks! If you see it anywhere else, please let me know so I can put up a link and send them some EWN love.
Thank you for officially launching this. A lot of people have wondered, me included. I went ahead anyway, reading short stories more, hm, devotedly since May began. Though I've still been hoping for your announcement. :)
Again, thank you!

I love the idea of Short Story Month, 2010. There are some wonderful short-short contest winners available in the archives of Writer Advice, http://www.writeradvice.com/archives.html.
Copyrights belong to the owners, but I'm happy to help you contact them if you would like to use any. If I can help in any other way, please ask.

I thought I'd get in on the action and recommend a few short stories in Arabic.
Notably Yusuf Idris, Ghassan Kanafani, and Hassan Blasim:
