It's here! The month that all children look forward to all year long---May and National Short Story Month (woot!).
Hard to believe that this is the 11th year since beginning the idea of May being NSSM back in 2007 after a month of struggling through (something I no longer do--struggle that is) National Poetry Month. About halfway between that time and now, Jeremy Chamberlin was kind enough to ask me about that decision and allowed a Guest Post to appear at Fiction Writers Review. Wander on over if you're interested in reading that as I won't go over it again here now.
To our knowledge, there were 255 short story collections published during 2017 and we've got mini-interviews with the authors of quite a few of them to post throughout this month. We'll also explain what it was that we liked about some of the short story collections published by Dzanc Books over the years. At least one or two collections will be reviewed and I believe I'm going to go through story by story looking at Cheer Pack--a currently unpublished collection by the fantastic Colin Fleming. Who knows what other excitement we might run into through the next 30 1/2 days!
Happy National Short Story Month to you all!
